NECBAC Member Awarded NEACAC IDEAL Award

A huge congratulations to NECBAC member Nakia Letang, Associate Dean of Admission, for receiving the New England Association for College Admission Counseling (NEACAC) IDEAL Award at NEACAC’s Annual Meeting and Conference at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY on June 7, 2018. Nakia, a former Vice President of NECBAC, is a long-time member who has served in numerous leadership positions over the years. She was spotlighted in the Vocational section of the New York Times, in 2015, for ‘Inspiring By Example.’

According to the NEACAC website, the IDEAL (Inclusion, Diversity, Education, Access, and Leadership) Award seeks to recognize an individual, institution, or organization who has demonstrated consistent and long standing commitment to issues of access including, but not limited to: students of color, first generation college students, low incoming students, undocumented students, and LBGTQ students.
