College Corps. New England 2019

November 6, 2019

Williamstown, MA  — Over three days in July, Lasalle College hosted rising juniors and seniors along with 20 professionals from college admissions offices and community-based organizations for College Corps New England, an intensive three-day workshop to help student participants learn about all aspects of the college search and application processes.

Proudly co-sponsored by the Northeast Consortium Bridging Access to College (NECBAC) and the New England Association for College Admissions Counseling (NEACAC), College Corps participants experienced a variety of workshops covering college admissions and financial aid counseling. In addition to working on their individual applications and college essays, student participants attended mini-courses covering a range of disciplines, attended mock interviews and a college fair, and engaged in fun, social programs like the “No-Talent Talent Show.” To ensure that student participants received the best possible mentorship, CCNE mentors attended two full-day trainings, including a workshop focused on cultural competencies. CCNE’s mission is well-aligned with NECBAC’s dedication to promoting college enrollment and retention for underserved student populations, particularly students of color.

NECBAC is thrilled to have once again supported CCNE and looks forward to many more opportunities to empower students and professionals through this meaningful, multi-day experience!
