College Fairs

College Fairs are a great way to learn about different types of Colleges and Universities without having to go very far. Organizations like NECBAC often hold fairs in major U.S. cities where colleges from all over are represented. While attending fairs, you can meet and talk to representatives from anywhere from 40 to 250 representatives. Meeting representatives is a great way to learn important information about colleges, including admission requirements, scholarship and financial aid information, and information on programs of study and clubs or activities.

Below is a list of the fairs scheduled in New England this Fall. You can find more information about these fairs at http://www.neacac.org/cf_fall.cfm.

CBOs

There are many different types of community-based organizations (CBOs) that help students prepare for college. Students can join this organization and participate in the activities that they provide. Each program has different schedules and time commitments, i.e., after-school or summer programs. This could be an opportunity for students to learn, have fun, meet other students, network, while getting valuable information. Some of the most common services provided include: SAT/ACT preparation, after-school homework assistance, college application guidance, college visitations, etc.
